Prescription hair formulas for men and women
Hair loss has several causes: pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), autoimmune loss (alopecia areata) and shedding after stress or hormonal change (telogen effluvium). Your prescriber works out which one you have. We compound the formula they write, often several prescription ingredients in one bottle at the strengths they choose.
Compounding lets your prescriber choose the strength, combine several ingredients in one solution, or use a topical instead of a pill.
Men's Topical Formulas
Men's topical formulas can combine a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (finasteride or dutasteride) with minoxidil. Tretinoin or azelaic acid may be added when your prescriber orders them.
Your prescriber and pharmacist give directions with the prescription. Responses vary; ask your prescriber what to expect.
