Hormones Compounded to Your Prescriber's Order
Bioidentical hormones have the same structure as the hormones your body makes. We prepare them to your prescriber's order.
Women's Hormone Therapy
Prescribers order compounded estradiol, estriol and progesterone for perimenopause and menopause. Your prescriber decides whether hormone therapy fits you and sets the dose.
Questions to ask your prescriber:
- Is hormone therapy right for my history?
- Why a compounded form instead of a commercial one?
- Which labs and exams will I need?
- Which side effects should I report?
Available formulations:
- Topical creams and gels - Applied to the skin
- Vaginal creams and inserts - For local use
- Oral capsules - Swallowed daily, as prescribed
What Compounding Can Change
Compounding does not change the hormone molecule. It lets your prescriber choose the dose, the ratio, the form and the base. Changes need a new prescription.
- Dose - The strength on the prescription
- Ratio - For example, estradiol to estriol in Bi-Est
- Form - Cream, capsule or vaginal cream
- Base - Leaving out a filler or allergen you react to
