    How It Works

    Mechanism of action

Dithiol antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals in both water- and fat-soluble environments and helps regenerate vitamins C and E and glutathione. It oxidizes readily, so anhydrous or airless packaging is preferred.

    What compounding can change

When Alpha-Lipoic Acid is compounded for one patient, your prescriber can choose the concentration, combine it with other ingredients, and pick the base. Commercial products come in fixed strengths and bases.
